Thank You to Those Who Attended our Global Leadership Summit

Earlier this month, we held an event called the Global Leadership Summit at Riverside House.  It was attended by 75 people each day over the course of two days. That number represents a mix of residents and community members.  From 9 AM – 5 PM each day, 15 global leaders gave motivational speeches on everything from bridging generational divides to being a fearless leader in the great outdoors.  One of the speakers who was particularly engaging was Jia Jiang, who spoke on Rejection Theory. He wrote a book called “Rejection Proof: How I Beat Fear and Became Invincible Through 100 Days of Rejection.”  Some of the leaders were centered in faith and some were not.  Staff and volunteers were exceptional with everything from how they set up registration, food, and decorations to the physical layout of the Social Hall and running the IT aspects of the conference as well.  A few speakers would present back to back followed by a 20 minute break or lunch. These breaks gave us time to digest all that we are learning over the course of the presentations.  It was so nice to have community members, residents, and donors all in the same space networking and socializing during the breaks. It was also a great opportunity for donors and community members to see the programs they have been supporting, as well as our Riverside House facility itself. Thank you to all who attended the conference for your continued support of our programs and clients.
