The power of God’s love never ceases to amaze us. When our clients give their life to Him and begin to take action to change their lives for the better, remarkable things begin to occur for them. Their lives are forever altered giving them a much better change at a successful reentry as a returning citizen. Our Chaplain recently spoke with a former client who shared his remarkable testimony of the abundance of blessings in his life since he came to Riverside House.

*Mr. Mark Peterson was released from Riverside House in July of this year. While in our Miami residential reentry program, he frequently participated in bible studies and contributed to the community by washing dishes for the kitchen area. He expressed sincere faith in God and the power of His might. This faith and hard work ethic has further blessed him in his life after graduating from our program.

He recently called our Chaplain to catch up. During the conversation, Mr. Peterson stated that God has truly been blessing him since being released back into the community. Even though he was unable to secure employment or restore a better relatiosnhip with his family while at our facitlity, he has since seen changes.

Mr. Peterson now works for a gas service company driving his own company van. He is in charge of doing instalations as well as fixing anything gas related at a residence or business. He was also estacitc to report that he was able to secure a residence where he didn’t have to go through a background check or any hostility to become a tenant.

“As he’s telling me about these blessings, Mr. Peterson continued to give God glory for opening up these doors that would have been closed if it wasn’t for a merciful God,” said Harrell Henton, Chaplain of Riverside House. “He also told me that through the encouragement of the Riverside House team he never lost faith in God.”

Mr. Peterson is another success story that has come through Riverside House. His example shows that when we let our light shine before us, and they see our good works, God will get the glory.
