Pastoral Care
Our Pastoral Care Program has helped more than 6,000 of our graduates succeed in their second chance at life. How? We offer individuals who are imprisoned in mind or spirit a place of refuge while providing spiritual and social guidance. To accomplish this we give them a nondenominational introduction to a God who will forgive them of their wrongs, love them unconditionally, and transform their lives.
This Program serves both resident ex-inmates, as well as outpatient ex-inmates who want to attend and/or who are referred by family or friends.
Through Riverside House's proven program success, those in desperate need become contributing members of society. In a 2005 study conducted by Riverside House, we found that during a typical year:
More than 325 Riverside House residents will join the work force.
Riverside House residents will pay 25% of their gross income, amounting to more than $300,000 in program fees to help offset program costs.
Riverside House residents will repay more than $85,000 in taxes to Miami Dade County.
For our residents at Riverside House as well as all who have stumbled and fallen:
Heavenly Father,
We give you thanks for your love, mercy and forgiveness. We know that you are well able to finish the good work you started in us. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love you, to those you have called. Therefore, we present ourselves to you, every wrongdoing, every mistake, every failure, and every gifting and talent. We ask you to cause all these things to be used for your glory and the edification of your kingdom on earth.
Because of the blood of Jesus Christ, we are cleansed and present our lives to you anew. Now to you, who are able to keep us from falling and present us faultless, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, now and forever.
